Cant open sims 4 ("game being prepared" loop)

I cant open sims. The window saying "game being prepared" keeps opening then closing again and then opening again and closing. This cintinues indefinitely or steam finally gives me a message "opening...

    same ea account. just somehow suddenly didnt work. Yesterday it suddenly started working again. I guess there was a problem with the ea app itself and steam didnt know that so it kept trying to open the game.

@91770894  Just to be clear, did you use your current EA account or a new one to try to play Sims 4 through the EA App?  I ask because I'd like to know whether this is an account issue or a computer issue.

The update required message is a Known Issue:

I don't think there's a current fix for it, but you can read through that thread for suggestions to try.
