Hey guys, my Sims game requires an update in order to play it but when I try to update in the EA app it tells me I have low disk space. I have deleted all files from my laptop and even apps that I don't use/need. It still doesn't seem to be enough. Is my Sims 4 game taking up the most storage? Will I need to try deleting and reintalling? What can I do to help access the game again?? I have spent so much money on expansion and game packs and I don't want to lose them. I have all my sims in my gallery saved so I know I could access them again but what about my packs? Can anyone help me figure this out?

and restart your computer, then repair Sims 4: open your game library, hover over the Sims 4 icon, click the three dots, and select Repair.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I'm having the same issue. Cleared cache and still nothing. Did you ever get it to work?

@schoolsalive How much free and total storage do you have available on each of your computer's drives? To find out, open a File Explorer window and click This PC in the left panel.

This is happening to me as well. Deleted literally everything else off the drive and it's STILL giving me the same disk space error. Tried clearing the cache, didn't work. Tried repairing the game, givimg me disk space error again. I've resorted to deleting all the DLC I have downloaded to free up space because even just deleting some of it still didn't clear up enough space! Literally removed like 10gb of stuff, there's no way a simple patch update is THAT big!!!

@Proxibius Please list the free and total storage on all of the drives in your computer. The problem may well be free storage on a different drive.

Hi I have been having the same issue. I am trying to download sims 4 onto my D drive and it has over 700gb of space. I have deleted my entire game and all the files. I have resorted to trying to just download the base game and it says I only need 21gb to download it. But then it says low disk space. My C drive is very full but I am downloading the game onto the D drive so I'm not sure what is going wrong. Please help. 🙂

@AtomicDazey The problem is that the EA App sees the lack of free space on C even though you're trying to install to D. The workaround is to clear enough space on C, at least temporarily, to allow the App to download Sims 4.

As a side note, it would be best to have at least 25 GB free on C at all times for the overall health of your computer. Windows can't install a feature update with less than about 20 GB, and temp files will take up space from time to time as well.

I have 143 GB free of 237 GB but I am getting the low disk space message when trying to download my add ons. Any help?
