Can't play Sims 4 offline?!?!?!

So, I JUST bought and downloaded this game yesterday. (Spent over a hundred dollars because I went ahead and got everything that was on sale, because hey, it's Sims and I've had fun playing all the others so far and my sister seemed to be having fun with this one, so I decided to take advantage of the sale.)

Anyway, went ahead and loaded it up for about twenty minutes while I had the internet connection. It played great. Like a champ.

Get my laptop home, where I don't have internet.... MASSIVE ISSUES. The loading screen takes four times as long to load up and lags horrifically. The game is so laggy I get a headache after only a couple minutes. I get half a second of movement and 3 -5 second of frozen screen. Non-stop from startup to shutdown.

I've checked all my settings. Changing anything doesn't matter. My drivers are current. My laptop is only a year old. The only time the game doesn't lag is when it's online. (Yes, I've tried signing in to Origin and putting it into Offline mode. That doesn't work. It actually STARTS the lag nightmare.)

I got this game so that I could play it when I didn't have internet, which is most of the time until I move out of the country. I want to be able to play this without internet. HELP!!!!!

Did you put Origin to offline mode while you had Internet or was it disabled automatically ?

Can you check if your settings are set to go online automatically in the game settings ?

Have you tried a clean boot yet ?

Also see some Windows Update errors in your DxDiag ? Have those all been resolved ?

There's also one error concerning Sims so could you check your event monitor if there's any critical events listed for Sims and/or Origin: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/critical-events/ ?

Yes, I tried putting Origin in Offline Mode while connected to the internet and that starts the lag problem right then and there. I've left it connected by default, but in the actual game settings themselves I've unchecked the boxes pertaining to the internet. They don't seem to have an effect on gameplay whether they're on or not from my experimenting with the settings.

But I have noticed that if I trick the game into thinking I'm connected by starting it while I'm online and then disconnecting myself from the internet, then it runs perfectly fine the entire time I play. It's when Origin isn't connected to the internet when I start the game when I experience the lag.

As for your other questions, I'll have to work on them or test them out when I get back from my vacation, because I won't be taking my laptop with me. (I might even come back and ask how to do some of them since my knowledge of computers only goes so far.) Hopefully one of those errors is the problem and will be an easy fix since I'm already pretty addicted to this game! XD

(Edit: I forgot to mention that my vacation runs from July 1st through the 10th. I'll try to check for a reply between then, but I can't make any promises. Also, thank you for taking the time to try to help me with this!)

So when the lagging started, Windows was still connected but just not the game ?

No, I was completely disconnected from the internet when the lag started. The game performs normally when I'm connected to the internet through Origin. It's when I'm offline in Origin that the lag happens. That's what's so confusing about it all. If I start up the game while Origin is connected to the internet, I can turn off the internet on my laptop (not touching the settings on Origin at all) and the game still thinks I'm online and plays just fine. But if I start it with Origin in Offline Mode or while completely disconnected from the internet, then the game is laggy and unplayable.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe there's a problem with my Origin files even though I updated it right before I bought and downloaded the game.

Right click on the Origin icon and click on run as administrator and it will come up a window which you have to put your email and password once you do that click remember me and you can always play offline
