Have you any mods or CC?
1. If yes - move the mods folder to the desktop
2. Try to fix the game in Origin
Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "repair game"
Then start a new game with the random sim, play 5 minutes and save it option "save as..." Check if your Load Button is working now and will show you all your saves
3. Find in Documents/Electronic Arts how many folders The Sims4 you have there. It looks like the game created a new folder of the game and now you have two and the game is using this new one.
If it is the reason, of course, you will not have your old saves in this new folder.

- @kreatora I moved the Mods folder, I repaired the game & did what you said, and I checked the Sims 4 folder (which I only have one of). None of those fixed the problem ☹️
okay it seems to be my mods folder but uh how do i use mods without this happening?
Custom content can get outdated with patches. If it works when you remove your mods folder, then one or more mods/cc is no longer compatible with the game and you have to find those.
