Can't press play on home screen

I bought the sims 4 today and it took 4 hours to load!!! Which is extravagant against the sims 3. Once it was loaded I clicked play and when it got to the home screen there was like a grey film over it. I tried to click play and a pop up thing came up saying that a reward is unlocked and to look for the gold thing in game play. I cannot get passed that pop up, I am stuck. I have tried everything to no avail. How do I fix this EA? I am frustrated with this game!!

    have you heard anything back? i'm still just as stuck here! 

    as soon as i load the game the grey film with the new lifetime award notification shows up and i can't make it disappear to actually play the game.

    I'm not sure what you mean with a gray film, could you maybe post a screenshot?

    You can always try right clicking the game in Origin, and choose 'repair game'.
