Give these a try:

You have the Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500. Which should run the game on a medium setting.

Anyways give the solution a try.

I'm having the same problem, my Sims 4 worked just fine for a whole year but suddenly a few months ago it just kept giving me that same error and I haven't been able to fix it, no matter what I try. This is really frustrating.

Please post a DxDiag:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

Updates in the game might cause this if your under system requirements. If you're not, a change in the computer might cause this. If I can look at your specs I might be able to tell you something about it 🙂
