Can't run the sims 4

I'm getting a massage that says

unable to start:

can't run the sims 4 with the video card in this system.please check that the video card meets the minimum specifications and that the latest video drivers are installed.

[0e6d1321:df4e8dc:0000012d:912c9c10].

i'm on windows 11 and the game was working perfectly fine today. I checked for graphic cards updates and it's updated.

  • @ellkay_9  Please try setting exceptions in Avira for TS4_x64.exe and Origin.exe.  And run Origin and Sims 4 as an admin: click on each shortcut and select "Run as administrator."

Your dxdiag is also missing some information.  So if the above doesn't help, please run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Try to play one more time, then run a new dxdiag and attach it.

By the way, did Sims 4 ever run after you installed Windows 11?  It sounds like it probably did from the timing of this issue, but please clarify either way.

@ellkay_9  It shouldn't keep happening, and I'm surprised the issue is back again so soon.  Try clearing Origin's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

and repairing the game: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.

Please also make sure that the exceptions you've set in Avira are still applying.  If you get an error message when trying to repair, restart your computer, then disable Avira and try repairing again.  Then try launching Sims 4 before reenabling it just to see whether it's interfering.
