Can't scroll with trackpad

I just got a PC, downloaded the Sims 4 and launched a new game. In CAS, two finger scrolling will allow me to zoom in and out on my Sim, but won't let me scroll down the list of clothes/accessories/e...

Update: if I move two fingers on the trackpad quickly, it will scroll like 5 or more lines, but I can’t scroll slowly to move just one line down the list (this applies to CAS clothes, Build/Buy stuff, the traits/celeb level panel for my sims, the gallery, pretty much any list)

Also I want to reiterate that two finger scrolling works perfectly when I need to zoom in/out of my sim or my house.

    I recommend that you get a mouse.

      While a mouse would solve the issue, I don’t play sims at a table. I play on the couch or in bed, with my laptop on my lap. Using a mouse here isn’t ideal since I don’t really have a place to put it. Do you know of any way to edit the controls of the game?

        I'm having the exact same problem its so annoying! it works fine on everything else just not sims

    I'm having the same issue with my new laptop. 2-finger scrolling through items in build/buy mode and CAS (I didn't get much further in the game to see if other scrolling things were affected) is super choppy and either scrolls too much or not at all. Occasionally I can get single lines but it seems really random. Zooming in and out is fine. Connecting a mouse does seem to be a fix but it's just not how I'd prefer to play.

    Not sure if there's some sort of compatibility issue with the game and the specific touchpad in my laptop, but I'm not having any issues using my touchpad to scroll on any other game/program other than TS4. I've tried every troubleshooting thing I can think of - adjusting my laptop's touchpad settings, turning off smooth scrolling, updating and reinstalling my touchpad's drivers, repairing my game, uninstalling and reinstalling Origin and TS4. I even did a clean install of Windows 10, and nothing seems to fix it. Really hoping someone has figured it out :/

      @Simesthesia  One step you didn't mention was disabling any overlays you have running: Steam, Discord, etc.  You can try disabling Origin in-game too: hover over your username, select Application Settings, then the Origin in-game header, and disable the option at the top.

      If that doesn't help, try playing in a clean boot:

      You'll still need to go through the Task Manager's background processes list after restarting—some programs don't get disabled in a clean boot, for whatever reason.  So you'll have to manually shut down anything that doesn't absolutely need to be running.

      If none of that helps, the issue may in fact be an incompatibility.  At this point, you've done everything else that someone might suggest.

        @puzzlezaddict I’m having this problem since switch from a Mac to PC, did anyone find a solution? I have tried all of the suggestions in this thread!
