As of the lastest update, my sims can't use the refrigerator. I've deleted and reinstalled it a couple times. It worked for a little while then nothing. command options come up, but then the sims act like they can't reach the fridge. Yes I have mods running, no they aren't the problem (disabled and moved them out of the mod folder, still a problem).
Deleted and reinstalled the game or the fridge ?
Did you try placing it somewhere else ? Get a different model ? Did you also delete your cache files after removing mods ?
Is there a hanging decoration in the way? I've had that happen to a stove when I changed wall height, the hanging light got in the way. Some objects fade when you are close to them so, you might not see an overhead item blocking the refrigerator.
If that is not the issue try repairing the game when the problem is occurring. Open origin, log in and, make sure you are online. Right click the game icon and choose REPAIR.
If that does not work, move the contents of your saves folder to the desktop and try a new game to see if the problem still exists.
