I had the same problem. If you have Sims 4 Studio, you can go to "Content Management" and there's a field titled "Batch Fixes". There you can choose between "CAS" and "Objects". Depending on what item you want to try and fix, you choose one of them. "Objects" has the option "Fix Objects for Cats & Dogs Patch". "CAS" has the option "Update CAS CC for Pets Patch". Once you've run it, a window will pop up that tells you how many objects have been fixed, how many were unable to be fixed and how many don't need to be fixed. It will also open a window of your file explorer that has a folder with all the fixed objects. So if you wanted, you could contact the creator of the CC and ask them to maybe fix their CC for future downloads or at least mention that the CC might have problems with the Pets Patch.
