CC Tray files not appearing in-game.

Hello! So I have been having this issue for months, basically if I download a house off the internet and place it in my tray folder correctly, it won't appear. But if I add a lot to my library via the gallery, it will appear. I have removed all my cc and repaired my game, and tested vanilla, and it still does not appear, and I want to fix this. Thank you! I will show pictures of my mods folder below and a screenshot of me ingame with Script mods and cc enabled, as well as in the gallery, and it still is not appearing.

  • Okay, wait, so the files do appear in my Sims 4 folder now, but when someone else usually downloads a file, it appears at the top of the library. Mine doesn't; it's randomised, so I either have to search for it or scroll down to find it, which is great! I'm not sure if it's showing all my Tray files as I have over 1000, and it doesn't look like 1000, so would it be okay if I keep this forum open just for a bit longer while I download a ton of households/houses to test! Is there a way for the files to appear at the top of the folder or do I just have to search for the items/scroll, which I don't mind doing? I'm just glad I think we've found the solution. puzzlezaddict

  • Could it possibly be due to some PC settings or something? Although that wouldn't make much sense as the game is reading my mod files, just not the Tray files? But I do remember that the Tray files once worked on my account on my old PC. I still have my old PC, but there's practically nothing on it. When I had Sims 4 on my old PC, I downloaded some sort of Malware, which did something to my PC, like delete an important file or something, and I lost everything. But I know Tray files did once work on my account. puzzlezaddict

  • LifeOn_Sims4  The question of user settings was why I suggested trying a new admin Windows account, not linked to an email address (so OneDrive couldn't hook in at all).  Some settings are global, but most are confined to the one account in which they're applied.

This could also be a browser issue, which is why I suggested using a different browser.  But more specifically, it would be best to use a browser that isn't built on the same tech.  For example, Microsoft Edge uses Chromium now, so testing Chrome and Edge isn't as reliable as testing one of those plus a browser that doesn't use Chromium at all.  Firefox is a good example of the latter.

Finally, I know you tested multiple downloads, and that these work in a friend's game, but I would like to test the downloads myself too, to see if I can spot any issues.  So please link a couple that still don't work for you and I'll try them in my game.

  • I did try the suggestions you gave me with a new admin account, which also did not work, including trying a new browser so I don't think it could be those. These are some of the houses I recently tried in my game! puzzlezaddict  https://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/details/category/sims4-lots-residential/title/modern-family-house-no-cc/id/1567368/

  • LifeOn_Sims4  I'm glad you fixed it.  To answer your other question, if the files show as new, as in, the dates correspond to when you downloaded them, you can sort the Tray folder by date modified.  Click the header itself to sort by that (or any) category, and click it again to reverse the order.
