Cheat box won't open...

Hi.. You are probably getting tired of this issue, but I've now read all your feedback on how to open the cheat box no matter witch advise I follow. I have a Dell, and everything was fine until I installed In the city and Vampires. I've looked foreward to play vampires but in Hollow Grove the cheat window suddenly wouldn't open.. please help, I need my cheats to have really fun with it, making better stories, appearances etc of the towns people and so on..
