The game crashes and turns off (update 1.122.218.1030 DX11)

After the last update, the game still automatically crashes after a few minutes. The game also crashes when applying a boost or selecting multiple interactions in the queue. Quickly switching between Live Mode and Build Mode also causes the game to crash. In some cases, the computer even restarts automatically.

  • Hjfueila  It looks like your computer is detecting a serious but not fatal error, followed by three different BlueScreen-causing errors in a row, each of a different type.  The most likely culprit is a bad driver, but I can't tell which one from the info provided.  Since your motherboard's BIOS appears to be outdated, start by updating that.  I believe this is your board:

    https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X570-GAMING-X-rev-10/support#Support-Bios

But double-check the model before installing the newest BIOS.  It looks like your chipset drivers are at least as current as what Gigabyte offers on its website, so you don't need to reinstall this driver package.

However, I would suggest running Microsoft's Driver Verifier, instructions here:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/devtest/driver-verifier

Choose the "automatically select all drivers" option and let it check yours, then install any needed updates and restart your computer again.  Try again to play and let me know what happens.

  • I am experiencing this.

I had no such problem the last time I played (about a week ago I think).  I just applied the latest update yesterday (1 April 26).  I updated with all mods and saves out of The Sims 4 folder.  I added only the saves, not the mods, except MCCC.  I can play for about 10 minutes when it just crashes.  Since then I have removed that single mod, deleted cache, repaired the game, reset the game to factory. This is very frustrating.

Thank you very much, I tried everything and only a BIOS update fixed the error.

  • Hjfueila  Glad to hear it's fixed, and thanks for the update.

VioletKitty411  If you still need help, your dxdiag mostly lists crashes of the graphics driver, but the newer Sims 4 errors are entirely different and might be related to your processor.  However, I can't tell what CPU you have because your dxdiag crashed while running.  So please provide a new one, that is if you haven't resolved this on your own.
