Cheat Console won't work in Sims 4?

I love the Sims, but I can't open the cheat console to get the money I need for my sims. I press CTRL+SHIFT+C and it comes up, but then it disappears and I can't type in it! What's going on?

Are you on MAC or PC ? Do you have any screen capture programs running ?
