Computer for Sims 3 and 4

I noticed you share a lot of good info on the types of PCs and setups one should have. It’s been quite some time since I’ve gotten to play any of the sims games and this would be my very first PC. I’m looking for a setup that I would be able to play the Sims 3 & 4 with a handful of expansion packs plus mods and CC. I’d also like to play some other games like Skyrim. My preferable budget is under $1,000 but I’m willing to go a little over that. Your feedback will be much appreciated!

  • luvminou  Is this $1,000 in U.S. dollars or some other currency?  Does it include a monitor?  I can work with your budget either way; just let me know.

  • Yes in U.S. dollars and yes that also includes the monitor :)

  • luvminou  What do you think of these two?

They both have an Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card, which is significant overkill for Sims 3 and 4, but you might like the extra power for other future games.  The other hardware is more than sufficient—the GPU would be the limiting factor in determining how well the systems run other games.  (That's not true for Sims 3 or 4, where the game engine is the limit; neither is optimized for high-end systems.)

In case you're wondering, iBuyPower is a system integrator that does custom builds and makes prebuilt systems with the leftover parts.  ABS is Newegg's in-house builder that uses components that aren't selling.  So they're both using the same components you'd get if you built the computer yourself, meaning the systems are repairable or upgradable if you ever want or need to do so.

If you want a bit of an upgrade, this one has a 4060 ti, maybe a 15-20% increase in power, for $100 more:

As for the monitor, let me know more or less what size you want, and any other details that matter to you, and I'll list some suitable options.

  • Almost a year later, so sorry for my late response. I still don’t have a PC! LOL! I haven’t been in a big rush to get a gaming PC because of being overwhelmed by my choices and overall waiting for my birthday. In doing the best research I can and to the best of my ability to understand PC parts I found these two PCs. Do you think these are good and if so which one do you think I should go for? I see the only difference really is the video card. I’m having a hard time adding the links and it’s not letting me had pictures so I’ll just tell you the PC names. They are on Cyber Power PC the first pc is
