Couldn't connect to servers error.

Keep getting "couldn't connect to servers" error trying to launch Sims 4.  Only running Windows defender firewall.  Tried turning firewall off.  Tried resetting my internet.  Tried rebooting PC.  Tried Restarting APP.  Tried Resetting App.  Tried adding Sims 4 and EA firewall settings to both public and private for all in list.  Tried all of these things in various orders.

This is getting very frustrating.

  • @terrysturchio  Try forcing the EA App to update.  Go here:

    C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop

and launch the EAUpdater.exe.  Then restart your computer and try to play.

If you get the same error, please post a screenshot for reference.  Please also list the country you're in and whether you use a VPN, in case this is a more widespread issue.

Unfortunately, this did not work;  I am in the USA.  This is what my Window's 10PC displayed.

@terrysturchio  If your computer has wifi, try connecting using your phone as a mobile hotspot.  Make sure it's using data, not your home wifi.  The point is to test the connection itself: if the issue is your router or ISP, the EA App should connect fine through your phone.

If this doesn't help, or your computer doesn't have wifi capabilities, try uninstalling the EA App using Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine).  Then restart your computer and reinstall.
