So the new pack only came out a couple of hours ago for me. I bought it and normally my packs automatically download but this one didn't which was fine. However, when I went to manually download it the app keeps pausing my download saying there is an error. When I try to resume the download I get a pop up telling me to restart my app or contact EA support. I tried restarting the app, my computer, I tried clearing the cache but nothing is working. Can someone please help?

Hey all, I've been informed that a fix was pushed live for this issue a few minutes ago, could you please try fully closing the EA app (including the EA Background Service process) and then let me know if you still run into this issue? If you're not familiar with stopping a Windows process you can achieve the same result with a full PC restart as well.

February 29th - I did the update today for The Sims 4 it required me to do right after purchasing the new stuff pack. Then as I tried to install the Crystal Stuff Pack, the pack remained on "paused" status on the EA app. I resumed and it gives me a "error unknown" message, I click retry and nothing happens.
I have followed the clean install (for both games and app) with the revo clean up as recommended on another post here but nothing still. I did this 4 times. One Drive is also not signed in as I saw this could be an issue, same for malware programs. I am running out of options and need help to be able to play my game again. Help anyone?

same here ☹️ i bought the crystal pack and tehen just waited, waited thes "something went wrong"...fine restart the app.... then restart the pc... nothing seems to work ☹️

is the EA launcher also trying to download any windows .net framework updates?

Last time I checked earlier, there was no updates queued up even after fresh EA App install for Windows Framework. PC was up to date fully, same after EA app install :/

Hey all,

Please try the following steps to clear up this error:

Open task manager, locate EA Background Service, and end task

Clear the cache for the EA app

Run the EA app as an administrator

Check for any background applications blocking the EA App

Try lowering your User Access Control Settings:

Close the EA app

Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field

In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available

Click Okay the bottom of the window

Open the EA app client and try starting the download again

If these steps don't help, please run an EA Error Report following the steps here, and provide your Report ID in this thread so we can investigate further. Thank you!
