[CURRENT ISSUE] Game won't Open says "already Running"

My sims game wont even open or load since I updated the Nov 2020 patch.  I removed all Mods and CC in a back up folder - Mods folder is completely empty and updated my game.  I tired to open my g...

@crinrict can you help me too please, I just downloaded the game yesterday and was very excited to play but it won't work. I don't have any antivirus software except windows defender. However, my problem is a bit different whenever I open the game it shows that the game is already running. I have tried everything from the 2017 thread but that doesn't seem to work. I even contacted the technical support who made me clear cache, update driver, set exclusions, repair origin and I even tried to reinstall the game. But nothing worked
you seem to help a lot of people so please help me too

@himanshi11 Do you have ransomware protection on in defender ?

I merged all your several post into this main thread.

    @crinrictyes i do and under that I see controlled folder access to which I had set exclusions and when that didn't work turned it off
