I'm just distraught. I had started up the sims to check out the new items but saw that I hadn't gotten the latest update. I clicked on updates in origins and now it will not work, just an endless loop of the update seemingly updating, saying that it's done but the update option won't go away.
I've tried loggin out
Shutting down origin
Restarting the PC
Checking if it is the virus protection but I just can't find the things that is supposed to be there.
I have anxiety from this please help!

@NikErik21 Windows Defender doesn't normally block Sims 4 updates, so unless you have a third-party antivirus installed, that's unlikely to be the cause of the problem. Instead, try clearing Origin's cache:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
then repairing: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair. When doing so, run Origin as an admin: right-click on the Origin shortcut and select "Run as administrator."
If that doesn't help, disable automatic game updates in Origin: hover over your username, select Application Settings, and under Application (the first header), scroll down to Client update to see the option. Then repeat the above.
