@NikErik21 Windows Defender doesn't normally block Sims 4 updates, so unless you have a third-party antivirus installed, that's unlikely to be the cause of the problem. Instead, try clearing Origin's cache:

then repairing: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair. When doing so, run Origin as an admin: right-click on the Origin shortcut and select "Run as administrator."
If that doesn't help, disable automatic game updates in Origin: hover over your username, select Application Settings, and under Application (the first header), scroll down to Client update to see the option. Then repeat the above.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you, I was stuck in an endless loop of updating the game and clearing the cache fixed it!
