I have had this issue for a few weeks now. I go on the EA App and play the sims and get an error. "gameName is already running" and no game will pop up. Here are all the things I have already done.
1. Cleared my cache
2. Restarted my computer/ Shut off my computer
3. Shut off EA app on task manager (sims is not even listed here)
4. Removed mods folder
5. Removed my Sims 4 folder to let a new one be created
6. Linked my Steam account (Steam also says that a game is already running)(no other Steam games are on and no other game acts like this)
7. Uninstalled/reinstalled
Please help me. I love love love this game and I have spent too much money on this game (I have every pack) just to stop playing.
@KatySearra If OneDrive is running on this computer, whether you use it or not, please pause syncing. You can see the option by right-clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
If that doesn't help, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing there. Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account. You'll be able to (try to) launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything.
