@irelandpure Heyo, I too am running Sophos and have this problem. Eventually, I've identified the one messing with it is, under 'exploits', under the advanced exploit mitigation, turning off the protection on 'prevent code cave utilization' lets the game run again.
And so there's the issue. Don't know why it's an issue, but...there it is.
YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!!! I've literally spent HOURS troubleshooting (curiously I had already unchecked that box including all others with no success), unistalling, re-installing, clearing caches, deleting files, updating drivers and more but unchecking that one box, and BAM! I agree that is makes no sense, but as you said "there it is".

@puzzlezaddict ok, I got everything installed and done, here's his DxDiag, also the sims 4 didn't open on his laptop

@TayloQT The Nvidia driver didn't install, so the laptop now is using the Basic Display Adapter instead of the driver. Please download a fresh copy of the VGA driver from here:

If you want to make sure you're getting the correct driver, here's the direct download link:
Run it as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart before trying to play.
