@UniqueAmore Moved your post over to the correct thread on that. I assume pressing ok does nothing ?
Can you also try all the suggestion given on the first post of this thread ?
- crinrict5 years agoHero+@dadnwpg09 What security software are yo using ?
Are you using Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 ?
Any error messages ? - 5 years ago
My turn to let you know that my game isn't working and what I've done.
When opening the game "User Account Control" opens and asks if I want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device? It's for TS4_x64.exe
I choose yes and it brings me back to the origin app and unhighlights the play button for Sims again.
I have taken out all mods, trays, and saves. I have repaired the game, I have restarted the computer and uninstalled and reinstalled my entire Sims 4 collection and I am still getting the same thing.
Spoke with someone already and they suggested I turn off my UAC which I didn't feel comfortable doing but did anyways, restarted the computer and it did the exact same thing as before. Now I'm back here. I even tried to 'Run as Administrator" and it didn't work, the same window pops upSpoke to EA on the phone and they suggested I do this...
Please follow the below steps :
1. Open the Start menu by clicking the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen.
2. Type MSConfig in the search box and press Enter. This will bring up the System Configuration window.
3. Click on the Services tab.
4. Check the box to Hide all Microsoft Services, then click the Disable all button to the right.
5. turn off Origin Client Service & Origin Web Helper Service" then restart PC.
DID ALL THAT AND THE SAME THINGHELP

What security software are you using ? - 5 years ago@crinrict I have disabled my virus protection - the same thing. I have also updated all my drives. I can send you my diag thing with all the info but I don't know how to get it
- 5 years ago
@RobynLaveau you can copy and paste the text inside of the DxDiag then paste it into pastebin.com that should work for yeh
- 5 years ago
@dadnwpg09 a couple of people like you and me have come to the assumption that the antivirus doesn't do anything, that might be important to know
- 5 years ago
@RobynLaveau suggest you @ crinct for that, not me cause Idk how to read that stuff xd
- 5 years ago
@dadnwpg09 I hope so but that's doubtful as EA has seemed to have only acknowledged the crashing issues and not the "My game won't start, no error message" issue xd
- crinrict5 years agoHero+
@dadnwpg09 Try this for Avast: https://crinrict.com/blog/2020/10/add-exceptions-to-anti-virus-programs.html
You should only use one Antivirus program at the time or they can conflict. Turn off defender if you're using avast.@RobynLaveau Checking. I'll get back to you
@baguettesandpast Merged your post with the master, could try suggestions on the first page
@TayloQT Sorry, but I'm at wits end with your issue. Hopefully puzzles has more ideas when she's back

- crinrict5 years agoHero+@dadnwpg09 If you turn off both Avast and Defender, also still nothing ?
- 5 years ago@TayloQT i would if i had it lol

@RobynLaveau There are a number of different errors in your dxdiag, including a few from Malwarebytes. Do you have real-time protection enabled? If so, please disable it and test the game. You don't need to uninstall Malwarebytes though: as long as it's not actively running, it shouldn't interfere.
If that doesn't help, please run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files, to clean up a couple Windows errors.
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart before trying to play. If the game still doesn't open, please disable Game Mode and Game Bar, both under Windows Settings > Gaming.
Finally, you have one error from the Nvidia driver. Since you already have the latest version of the driver, if the above steps don't work, you'll need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall.
SpoilerDownload Display Driver Uninstaller from here:
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3300
Get a fresh copy of the Nvidia driver from here:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/166630/en-us
Next, take your computer completely offline—disable wifi and/or pull the ethernet cord—and double-click the DDU.exe. Take note of where the file will land, and click Extract. If it's easier, you can copy the path and then paste it into the address bar in a File Explorer window. Open the folder and then launch Display Driver Uninstaller.exe, and you'll get a message that you're not in Safe Mode. Click OK, then go to Options and enable Safe Mode dialog. Here's a screenshot of what your options should look like; make sure the box in red is checked:
Close options, and the DDU, and then open the DDU.exe again. For launch options, choose "Safe Mode (Recommended)," and then click Reboot to Safe Mode (you'll need your password, so find it before rebooting). Once you login, you'll see this:
In the blue box, choose GPU, then Nvidia if it's not already showing. Then click Clean and Restart (red box).
Once your computer has rebooted, now back in normal mode, run the driver install .exe in custom mode. Select "perform a clean installation" and install ONLY the GPU driver and the PHYSX software.
Reboot again, go back online, and see whether the game launches. If it doesn't, please run and upload another dxdiag.
