Just as the title states - I have not been able to launch the game via Origin after the Nov'12 2020 update. I would press play, origin window would disappear and reappear and nothing else happens. I have tried the following:
- Restarting Origin
- Restarting Computer
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Origin
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Sims - I tried only installing the Sims 4 without expansion packs and mods but it does not work.
- Repair game
- Fully cleared Origin cache
- Move my entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto my desktop - I did this before and after re-installation. It did not work before I uninstalled and after re-installation there is no folder in there at all.
- Disable Origin in game
My graphic drivers are updated. Please help I think I've tried everything I could find in the forum. Thank you in advance.

Could you try all the suggestion on the first page.- 6 years ago
Thanks for all your help Crinrict (again). I hope EA are paying you well for all the help you have given us over the years with various Sims games. EA are certainly diabolically useless and set my query to resolved yesterday even though it wasn't.
Stay healthy, stay happy. X

Jeanine, it looks like you've gone through what I went through. It was the Sophos antivirus setting PROTECTION/EXPLOITS/EXPLOIT MIGRATION/ and then disable the 'Prevent Code Cave Utilization' option. If you are running another antivirus then I expect there will be a similar setting here.
ADMINS not sure how to set my original question to resolved or close it. Happy for you to do this though.- 6 years ago
Thank you so much Karen! It was indeed the setting on my Sophos.
- crinrict6 years agoHero+@karenKent As your post is part of this master thread, there's no need to do that.
Have you tested if there's a way to add an exception to that code cave utilization instead of turning it off ?- 6 years ago
it's pretty much either off or on, no other options (see screenshot). I added ea.com to my list of website exceptions but that doesn't help this issue.
