My game has very very rarely crashed in the past but since the May 2026 update it has crashed a few times. i don't play with mods or cc and i have repaired the game through the EA app. It's frustrating to lose hours of gameplay or to fear not saving every few minuets in anticipation.

Me too, since update May 12, 4080, clean game, new update, now crashes. I can't buy the new content with the game doing this. I've never had my game crash like this before. Oh and I've been playing for years. Not a newcomer. :)

I'm gutted. It's completely unplayable. The game just goes off within 20 minuets of playing, No error code, just takes me straight back to the ea app screen. I feel like I've done everything to try and fix it :(
I'm having the same issue here. I'm a clean PC player. No mods or cc EVER. I can't take it, hoping I remember to save every 15 mins in case it crashes! I've verified all game files; there are no corruptions. I'm getting very frustrated. I hope this is fixed soon.
Update 2 days later: Still crashing every 20 mins or so. Or if you travel, then travel home, usually 5 mins later, guess what...crash. I've had to take a break from playing. I'm a somewhat seasoned player. Over 5,600 hours in PC gameplay alone. That's not counting Xbox time. Please fix this soon!
Update 7 days later: Thanks for the help puzzlezaddict . I think I have figured out my problem. This is my guess - I had too many items from too many different packs on one lot (the save I've been working on, I've been playing for 23 generations currently, so they have accumulated a lot of things over the years), and that was causing my game to overload and crash. I removed some things from various packs, and it isn't crashing nearly as much. I'm also thinking I need to upgrade my computer a bit, as I am running on a pretty basic setup.
I have been having the same issue the last couple of days but having said that I had had 2 windows updates in 3 days and another last night. So maybe microsoft are the problem.

I’ve tried everything, I am a mod user but even without any of them it still crashes and I even completely uninstalled and re-installed and am still having crashing issues since the may 12th update, it’s very frustrating - help please

Count me in too! I have to save every 5 minutes out of fear that it will crash, and this has only happened since the update. Sometimes, even as I try to save, it will crash. It's unplayable. Hopefully, EA sees and fixes this ASAP.
I am having the same problem after may 12th update my game closes without a warning with or without mods in game.
