I have recently gotten a new laptop and haven’t played sims for a few months, I decided to re-download the game today and I’m having issues with the game starting. My friend, who had recently uninstalled the game but hasn’t gotten a new laptop, is having the same issue after she reinstalled it today, but a few months ago she could play just fine... Due to this I feel that it isn’t a problem with my new laptop as we both have different ones and have the same problem.
Every time I attempt to start sims, my laptop acts as if it would launch it but it seems to fail or think it has launched it, but it hasn’t. The origin screen pops back up again as if I never pressed the ‘play’ button at all.
I’ve spent hours doing everything I could find online. I’ve restarted my PC, repaired the sims 4 game through origin, disabled Origin-In-Game, cleared caches in the sims folder and origin folder, used ccleaner to clean registry, removed all mods, reset user files, disabled any antivirus softwares and VPNs, I’ve even tried playing offline, still no avail.
if anyone has anything else I could try or has any idea at all what is going on please tell me, I’d be so grateful!! This is extremely frustrating when you just wanted to sit and play the sims 😫
@martin45k Please try any steps listed here that you haven't already done:
It may help to do them together, e.g. run Origin and Sims 4 as an admin while your antivirus is disabled, or clean boot plus the other steps.
If nothing works, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
