@Arellanna The only places to search are on your computer and in OneDrive, either in My Files or the recycle bin. If you want to be absolutely sure they're nowhere on your computer, download Everything, from VoidTools, which is a free search tool that works a lot better than the built-in Windows tool. Search for Slot_ and see what you get.
This is not an EA-side issue, but rather a system issue of some kind; and EA support doesn't really know what to do about it. So there's no point in contacting EA for help. But if you want to anyway, this is the help portal:
i have found the files on my computer, and they are all named correctly as per the guide at the start of this Q&A. but they're still don't appear in game. i also removed one drive as soon as i got computer and before i downloaded game, so thats not the issue.
anymore ideas?

@Arellanna Please post a screenshot of the contents of the folder that contains the saves, as in, I'd like to see the saves themselves. If nothing else, it'll help me to be able to refer to specific files when I make further suggestions. Please include the address bar, above the list of files, in the screenshot.
Please also list the full path to the user folder Sims 4 is reading. Hers's hwo to find it:

@Arellanna Most of your saves are in the correct location, but Sims 4 is reading the TEMP folder for some reason, which is of course a bad idea even independent of your missing saves. So the next question is, what location has Windows designated as the Documents directory? Your computer will have several Documents folders, but the chosen directory is the one Sims 4 will also use, if it can.
Please search in Windows for Command Prompt, open it, and enter this:
reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"
If the result is anything other than C:Users\sturd\Documents, you'll need to change it manually. Here's how:
Then launch Sims 4 and confirm it's reading the correct folder.
