Only a few problems with your theory here:

  1. I don't run on OneDrive... refuse to allow Microsoft access to saving any of my data online.
  2. My Save files are intact, just not accessed
  3. My Mods file is intact
  4. other apps recognise my Mods file existence.

I believe it's from EA's end, due to the fact that when I started play yesterday (actually, before I started playing, because it was a loadup that I noticed the 'new packs' list/display as if I'd never played before) is when it went 'belly-up'.  I immediately checked the existence of my Saved and Mods files... still there, even to the correct file number/name.

From EA/Sims 4 end, the game isn't registering/seeing/picking up my files, even though they're there.
