  • Platform: PC Win 11
  • Which language are you playing the game in? English
  • How often does the bug occur? Every time I let the game run on DX11
  • What is your current game version number? 1.109.185.1030
  • What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Tiny Living, Seasons, Romantic Garden stuff, holiday celebration pack, eco lifestyle, dream home decorator game pack, discover university, city living, backyard stuff
  • Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Probably by having my setup and running the game on DX11...
  • What happens when the bug occurs? The game freezes on a chosen family to play loading screen (so after the main menu). The music of the loading screen keeps playing, and the different tips of quotes keep shuffling, but it does not enter the live mode of the chosen household. I cannot even exit the game by pressing Alt+F4 or closing the process through the task manager, or alt ctrl del because the game overlaps the task manager window soon as I press anything on the screen. I once ran it on DX11 back when you would have to type it in the advanced launch options but some the wall paintings were green with a black question mark in the middle. When i realized it was DX11's fault i disabled it and it ran perfectly fine.
  • What do you expect to see? A functioning game...
  • Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes but DX11 interferes even with Mods removed from the folder

        @itsEllah  Please try playing in a clean boot:

        The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

        When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

        Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.  If this alone doesn't help, repeat the test but with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

        If that doesn't help either, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

        Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 4, specifically in the clean boot.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
