DirectX 11 Technical Issues and Feedback Thread

Hi,
I have a different problem since the update of the 18th Sept. 2024: I can’t play in Fullscreen Mode anymore. The game launches and the screen goes black immediately. The monitor doesn’t loose signal or anything and the game keeps on running but the screen stays black. When I try to navigate with the tab key into other open programs in the background the game sound stops but the game stays in the frame. I had no such issue before the update. When I launch the game in Windowed/Borderless Mode it stays visible but I also can‘t switch to other open tabs or they can be viewed but the game stays visible beneath them where usually the desktop would show.

I tried to solve the issue myself with the following steps:

(First of all I had already removed the Mods folder when I updated the game as usual and launched it first without it, like I always do after updates)

• Checked cable of grafic card
• Cleaned EA-APP and game cache and restarted PC
• Created a completely new Sims 4 folder and launched game without any of my own files in it
• Cleaned everything again and repaired the game and launched without any own stuff in it (savegames and so on)

In the end I thought it worked until I realized that it had switched back into Windowed/Borderless Mode of its own accord. When I changed into Fullscreen the screen went black again. My grafics card drivers are fully updated, it supports everything to DX12, the game worked smoothly before, I‘m at my wits‘ end. I’ve added a pic of the grafic settings I usually have and the dxdiag file here aswell, maybe that gives anyone an idea what might cause the problem.

• Platform: PC Windows
• Which language are you playing the game in? Swedish
• How often does the bug occur? All the time in Fullscreen Mode
• What is your current game version number? 1.109.185.1030 DX11
• Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods?
• Yes, CC and Script mods but I removed them.
