DLC CAS gender update bug

Question

I recently downloaded the Perfect Patio and kids rooms dlc, but for some reason when I try to update my previous Sims with the new clothes, they are restricted by the gender boundary. Are the old dlc's not updated or is this a random bug?
My game is fully updated, so I have the gender update.

Did you remove the filter ?

Not sure I understand. Everything that's from EA should be available but you need to remove the filters.

Are you using mods ?
