Ea and steam link(the sims 4 dlc)

Hello, I'm kind of new not really thought I got the sims 4 when it became free but I've watched videos but I don't really know how it works much. So I saw online that linking your steam account and ea account will move your games to both accounts. I did this on my phone since I don't have a windows based laptop/pc at the moment but I'm getting one soon. So I only have my Chromebook. I unlinked my ea account with steam thinking maybe I needed to do it on my laptop but it didn't work. Basically I used on of those sites to get my game slightly cheaper while on sell so I paid $27 bucks for seasons and cats and dogs but the key was only for Ea not steam. I can't download them yet because I need a laptop. As we all know Ea made some small packs free on steam for a little time like backyard and the gardening kit which I own on steam( I don't have a laptop so I used steam since it will stay in my library). So I own that and the base game on steam. I contacted steam and they told me go to ea. I'm not trying to pay 30 plus dollars on something I own already. Please help, also in the sims game when you start to play do you sign in with your Ea account even through steam? Because then should my other dlc *seasons and the animal one crossover to steam completely? I hope becausei truly don't have the money to buy that again. I also bought the toddler pack and home chef hustle but on steam so I didn't use a different site. Though I don't want to buy that stuff again on steam to play it. 😔🥲😭😞. Please help me 🙏🏾❤️

  • @keke1253  When you install Sims 4 through EA or through Steam, you have the option to also install the DLC you own through that platform.  However, the content you own through the other platform will not install.  That's why you need to manually install your EA App-owned DLC.

You do NOT need to put any data anywhere.  The EA App should take care of it.  However, you do need to make sure you have NOT installed the base game through the EA App.  If you have, the App will get confused as to where to put the DLC, and it won't load when you launch the game through Steam.

  • @keke1253  The way the EA/Steam tie-in works is, you need to install the Sims 4 base game through Steam.  You'll install any Steam-owned packs at the same time.  Then you sign into the EA App and download the packs you own there, but not a second copy of the base game.  These packs will install into the Steam version of the base game, and when you launch Sims 4 from Steam, all of your packs from both platforms will load.

Your Steam library will NOT list the packs you own in the EA App.  Your EA App library will list the packs you own in Steam, but it won't let you download them—you'll need to do that through Steam, as described above.  And of course your EA and Steam accounts have to be properly linked to each other.

Since I'm kind of new with dlc, doesn't the dlc already go to your game? Though I have to download it, kind of confusing anyhow through ea I download the dlc I have and what do I do next, put it under the sims 4?
