@Ardruna Remove or rename the new Sims 4 folder, then try to launch the game again and see whether it works. If not, please run the Command Prompt command again to confirm that your computer's Documents directory is still in the correct location:
C:\Users\your username\Documents
If Documents is still where it belongs and you can't play even after removing the newer Sims 4 folder, please post a new dxdiag. Please also let me know what antivirus you use.
Hi. Hoping someone can help. Having all the same issues as others and just cant launch the game. I've done all of the advice here and on every other page on the internet about this issue with no sucess. Moved folders, cleaned caches, verified files, turned off anti-virus, downloaded C++, reinstalled app in the same location as game, etc etc etc...
Interestingly I have the same issue across two different computers - and older i5-8400 with 32gb and a gtx1070 and also an almost fresh out the box ROG Flow X13 with a i9-13900, 16 gb and a RTX 4060. Both do the same thing. Move the folder to the desktop, starts ok as a clean copy, save a new game, exit and restart to end up in the app loop. Even this has started going wrong as often now the app isnt even bothering to open on starting the game.
Any and all help gratefully received

@thedieseldog1 Have you tried playing in a new admin Windows account? If not, please do so now. The account needs to be local, as in, not linked with your Microsoft account.
If that doesn't help, please let me know exactly what you see on-screen when the game fails to launch, including a screenshot of any error you receive. Please also run a dxdiag on whatever computer you'd like to troubleshoot with and attach it to a post.

Hi - thanks for the reply. Have tried the local admin account - same thing happen.
No error message received when I try to start the game. Two versions of the same thing depending on whether I move the program file on to desk top - if I do then the EA app will start, will come up with a preparing game box, game starts (sometimes completely basic, sometimes with DLCs ready to go), plays fine and saves fine. Next time I try to start it with the new program files back in documents about 50% of the time it will start the EA app, the preparing box will come up and then it will just go back to the EA app home page. The other 50% of the time nothing happens at all and the EA app wont even open.
Dx attached for the simplier machine

@thedieseldog1 Where is Sims 4 installed? "Program files" refers to the game data the EA App installs, so the game itself, not your saves and other user data. If you've installed this into Documents, that could easily explain the problem, but maybe that's not what you meant.
If you're not sure where Sims 4 is installed, open the EA App game library, click Sims 4, and select Manage > View properties. You'll see the file path there. Please list it for me here.
