I posted this on reddit but it didn't let me so asking here. I just wanted to inquire if anyone knows why this is: so basically I play with MANY MANY mods, so for obvious reasons when a new patch comes out I like to play offline and don't update until modders have had time to fix things and the patch is stable. Sometimes this is fine but I growing together did this and now the new for rent patch are doing something strange. So even playing completely offline and not changing anything I suddenly get tons of lag or issues or things not working well when it was working absolutely perfectly before and I don't know why. My logic is that if I didn't install the patch, the version is the same, and my mods are the same, it should be fine right? but it isn't, and no it hasn't accidentally updated without my knowledge it is still telling me to do it. So does anyone have a good reason this happens? It is annoying because I want to play but with growing together when it happened i was forced to update due to the problem which then led to literally breaking my game for over a month even without mods lol; i like to wait until patches stabilise and not be forced. And now i fear the same thing happening again. If not I can return to Sims 2 and 3 like I did last time, I know there isn't really any troubleshooting for this, it's mainly just curiosity to know how and why this happens. Are there certain things within EA app that change when the game has a new patch that causes it to not be compatible anyway?
