Echo
I have loaded into the game twice now and there is a persistent echo whenever my sim performs an action. The sound effect they create, as well as system notifications all echo 3 or 4 times. The music...
@Simsational_CJ Have you tested with a different sound output device, for example headphones? Even if you don't like using them normally, it would be helpful to know whether that made a difference.
Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I have tried using my headphones and I'm still having the same issue. It is a glitch in the game and it only happens on the Sims 4.
@Simsational_CJ Your dxdiag lists a number of errors with the driver for your graphics chip. This can sometimes interfere with the sound output, but regardless, it should still be addressed. Try installing the newest driver for your processor and graphics chip:
You want the recommended (WHQL) driver, not the newer optional one. Restart after installing the driver and before trying to play.
If that doesn't help, update your sound drivers as well; your current Realtek driver is from 2018. Hit Windows key-X, select the Device Manager, expand the Audio section, click on each entry in turn, and click the black and green Update button in the menu. Repeat for every entry in the Sound category. Not all devices will have driver updates, and that's fine; the point is to make Windows look for new ones. Restart when you're done.
Okay, thank you I will do that and let you know if it works. Every time I try to update anything in my computer it always says it's all up to date so I had no idea. Thank you!
