Echo
I have loaded into the game twice now and there is a persistent echo whenever my sim performs an action. The sound effect they create, as well as system notifications all echo 3 or 4 times. The music...
@Simsational_CJ Each application can use a different combination of resources and program sounds in a slightly different way. So it's not uncommon for an issue to appear only in one game. Since this echo is an unusual problem and only rarely reported in Sims 4, it's not purely a game issue, although it's certainly possible that the game doesn't work well with a particular driver.
One other suggestion I have is disabling Windows Sonic if you currently have it enabled. Right-click on the volume icon in the lower-right corner of your screen and hover over Spatial sound to see the option. If you happen to see a different option enabled, please disable that too.
The only other suggestion I have is to open the sound settings, accessible through the same right-click menu, and mess with a few settings there. For example, click Sound Control Panel and make sure your preferred device is set as default, and if that doesn't help, change the default to something else you can test with. Under Manage sound devices, you can try disabling all but the one device you're using. And you can try the Troubleshoot button, although that doesn't always find existing issues.
After making any change, be sure to restart your computer before testing.
@puzzlezaddict Okay, I have tried everything and nothing has fixed this issue. But then, last night I was watching a lilsimsie Youtube video of her playing The Sims 4 and she had the same issue!! I am convinced that this is a glitch in the game. But I just wanted to thank you for all of your suggestions. I wish something would have fixed it but hopefully the Sims 4 team will address this issue soon.
@Simsational_CJ I'm sorry I don't have anything better to offer. But at the very least, it's worth testing after each patch just to see whether anything changes.
@puzzlezaddict It's okay, all suggestions and trying new things helps. I have been experimenting and trying to fix it and I thought I did fix it. So, when I am in game and the glitch is not happening, when I put it into speed 3, that is when the glitch starts to happen. The game sound echos, repeats, pops, the game itself stutters (like, the movement of the sims stutters). When I go back to normal speed it might take a minute but sometimes it goes back to normal. Other times the echoing and stuttering just continues off and on until I exit the game.
@Simsational_CJ There is a program called Nahimic. This program adds effects (such as echo) to your audio . I have seen it in some MSI computers. This has created issues in the sound (mostly no sound). This program is not a required Windows program and it can be disabled. I thought there was an update from Nahimic that was supposed to fix issues (not sure on this). Check for update.
