Empty families, zoom on map, invisible sim...

Hi, before I start, I'm sorry for my bad english.

Since the new update, when I click on a house (on the map), I can’t see the families in the bottom right corner. And when I click “Play”, that makes a zoom on the map and nothing more. Or when I manage to reach an home, my sims are invisible, I can’t play. There is not even the “thumbnail” of the sims, nor the bars of humor, I cannot use the telephone either. I tried to move an household (the Goth for example) but that tells me I can’t do it because the family is EMPTY. So I repaired the game, nothing. I deleted all my mods and CC, nothing. I reinstalled my game, nothing. When I reinstalled it, I was able to create a new household and play with it but when I was going to the map, I wasn't able to come back with this household or play with another household.

Already tried to resolve the bug with an EA Advisor (four times by tchat), all proposed me different solutions but nothing worked. So I don't know what to do anymore. I know there are more important things in life but I didn't pay a game not to be able to play it. And I'm happy I didn't bought the extensions.

    @gameshark91

Did you try both resetting and repairing the game?

    Resetting:

    Spoiler

Try resetting your files to factory settings.

    • Make a backup; copy your The Sims 4-folder from C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts to an external drive or somewhere else on your computer, for example your desktop.
    • Rename the The Sims 4-folder in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts to The Sims 4_backup
    • Start the game, make a new save, and see if the error is gone.
(The game will have created a new The Sims 4-folder in your documents, this is supposed to happen)

        • If yes, continue
        • If no, post a reply telling us the error is still there
    • Start putting folders back in the new The Sims 4-folder. Observe! After every file/folder, start the game and make sure it still works, before putting in the next one.
      • Options.ini - your game settings
      • Saves - your old saves. The sub-folders are not needed. If putting these back causes problem, try putting one back at a time.
      • Screenshots
      • Custom music - if you have any
      • Tray - your library objects; like lots, rooms and sims
      • Mods - your mods and cc, might cause problems when putting back

If putting back one of the folders was problematic and you did not work it out, please post a reply and we'll see if we can find what your problem is!

    Good Luck! 🙂

    Repairing:
