in the apartment the family live in, a kitchen cupboard has been enlarged somehow and it now blocks the entire hallway. my sims can't leave or enter the apartment, lift is blocked by cupboard. how can I delete it? I tried the sledgehammer and resetting object but it says the object is non existent (nothing to delete). cupboard reaches ceiling and walls.
In build mode, are you able to get a 'grab' hand if you try hovering over the cupboard (there may be only a small area where the hand appears and lets you grab it). With the cupboard selected, press the left bracket key [ several times to shrink the cupboard.
Have you tried entering build mode and dragging the cupboard to the 'sell' (lower left corner of the build window)?
You could go to the Main Menu, begin a new save, and enter the apartment in the new, fresh save. Save a copy of this new, fresh kitchen and all other rooms around that area of the apartment into your library. Now return to the game save and its apartment with the cabinet issue and place the newly saved kitchen directly over the one with the enlarged cupboard. This should overwrite and the one with the cupboard issue. If the cupboard is still there, try replacing all of the rooms with the fresh, new ones that you saved from your new game.
Let us know how it goes. Thanks

@SheriGR Thanks so much for getting in touch! Ive tried to attach an image of the bug but it says the file size is too big. The actual enlarged cupboard is in the hallway, which is land that is not owned by any of the two apartments and it blocks the lift. as i dont own it, i cant build on it or change it (even with the bb.enablefreebuild on). i have tried hovering over the cupboard but it stays on the mouse option on all areas and not the grab hand.
@Amayachen A screenshot image can be resized &/or compressed in order to upload it on a message. Alternately you could upload it as-is to a Google Drive or similar and just provide a link to the image here.

I can think of a few options we could try here...
Option #1 You could share your game's save file to Google Drive or similar and I could check it in my game. [ Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves ]
Option #2 Do you have Mods or CC (or have you had either in the past?)? If so, occasionally those can become outdated or glitchy and have been known to interfere with the game or cause odd issues. If this is the case, we can confirm if they'e affecting the game by doing the following (click spoiler tag for directions):
Exit your game then exit Origin. Please drag the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop (for future reference) then delete the package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder. Also delete any other folders in the 'Sims 4' folder with word cache in the name. (When you restart the game it will automatically create a new Mods folder.)
Next please run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs). After that, please see if the issue has stopped. (If this fixes the issue you can re-add your mods/cc one at a time to see if one was conflicting with the function/causing the glitch - but do not re-add the old config file from the old mods folder, as it is possible for it to have become corrupted also.)
You could save the households and lots that you're using into the library and begin a new, fresh save, then place them into the new game-save. If you do this, please save them in household groupings of sims who's relationships you want to preserve, as any sim saved into the library only retains the relationships to those who are saved to the library with them in the same household. Make note of how much money they each have in your current game. They will only have $20,000 per household in the library. You will have to place each sim or household into a lot in the new game save and do the motherlode cheat or another money cheat to get their money back. Get the money and other cheats directions here: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/how-to-cheat
@Amayachen Sorry... that link doesn't work. It will need to be hosted/located somewhere on the web. You can compress an image here: https://tinypng.com/
@Amayachen Yes, I can see that now. When I enlarged a cupboard in my test so that the cupboard was about half into the hallway/elevator area and I tried that fix I mentioned of copying and placing the same kitchen from a new save into this save with the large cupboard, it fixed the issue (in my test). Did you try that option? (Also copy the other rooms, in case the kitchen only is not enough... see my first post for that information). In your photo it looks like your counter is no longer in the kitchen at all, so you may need to replace all of those rooms in the manner I mentioned to see if this will fix the issue.
Edit: Alto apartments? Please make sure that moo is not enabled when you place the rooms in the apartment. It looks like you will need to replace all of the rooms in the area, as it seems this cupboard was enlarged plus moved... I assume with moo on since it is placed in a manner that should not be allowed by the game normally... unless there's another issue (a glitching Mod/CC, a game error/glitch that needs to be repaired, etc.).
Ah, thanks again for the help. I did all of step one, and the actual cupboard no longer identified on the lot but instead outside of the premises on land i didn't own. So, even when i put in the original kitchen from the new save, that cupboard was still there. So, i bulldozed the entire lot, but the cupboard remained. It was so much hassle , so i saved everything and have now transferred the apartment and family into a new save and it no longer has that annoying cupboard as its all fresh. Sorry to be such a bother, but your help was appreciated so much!
@Amayachen Wow, that cupboard was stubborn! Craziness! Kudos to you for trying so many things. Sorry that none of the things fixed the issue in the end, but I'm happy to hear you were able to save things to the library, start a new save, and go on with a fresh start.
Thank you for letting us know, and please let us know if you have further issues. Happy simming! 🙌
