Did this solve the issue you were having? I just bought the game on Thanksgiving and have not been able to get it to even open! I've done the uninstall/reinstall routine on sims and origin. This is the only game I'm having issues with. I bought the game through steam. I've read all the posts I can find and done all the things suggested, but I can't get it to work!
Edit: I would like to add that C++ is definitely not my issue as I have checked that I have all available versions and that they are all up to date. I still cannot get my game to initialize.
I have tried everything listed in the comments and I still can't get my game to work. So sad. ☹️
