Error in uni dorms requirements

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Italiano
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.136.1010
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them, except Strangerville, Vampires, and Realm of Magic
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? University dorms: the game says they're incompleted, but I didn't make any changes in them. I already deleted the mods folder, so it's not a mods/cc related issue.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can't edit them, or even exit build mode after entering, because I have to remove elevator, showers, etc, since the game says the lot would be completed without them.
What do you expect to see? I expect the lot to be already completed and editable.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. After Eco Lifestyle. Before that, the Discover University pack was working perfectly. I applied the new patch that made the dorms load again, but now there's this new issue.

I already tried removing the entire Mods folder, localthumbcache and playing with a new save using no cc, same problem.

Thank you!

  • @Dia4lit  Please leave your mods out for now.  Start a new save (no need to spend much time on it; you don't need to keep it), evict the sims from the dorms that are affected in your current save, and save each now empty dorm to the library.  Then quit and load your affected save.  For unoccupied dorms, you can go straight into build mode and place the copy you saved of the lot without cheats, as described below.

For occupied dorms, you'll need to either switch to playing a sim there temporarily, or evict the sims.  If you want to keep the sims there, once you switch to playint them, bring up the cheats console (ctrl-shift-C) and enter these cheats:

    testingcheats true

    bb.enablefreebuild

Go into build mode, click F4, and choose your Library tab.  Select the version of the dorm you've saved, and Place Lot.  (Choose Furnished.)  The lot should be replaced with an identical copy, but hopefully the game will reevaluate the requirements and see that it meets all of them.

If this doesn't work, try switching the lot type to Residential, placing the copy of the dorm, then switching back to university housing.

@Dia4lit  Okay, please move your entire Sims 4 user data folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Clear Origin's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

restart your computer, and repair the game: open your Origin library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.  Then launch the game, which will create a new Sims 4 folder with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just see if you have the same issue.

@puzzlezaddict Okay, I reinstalled the game, create a new save and took out my electronic arts folder. In the new save, everything worked just fine. When I put inside my old save file, same issue. I evicted the sims, opened build mode from the neighborhood, and the requirements were fine again. I enrolled again the two sims and it worked. I put back my mods folder and it's still working, so it was not that. Maybe something went wrong when I installed the newest pack or the patch, I don't know.
    Thanks for your help.
