Hey!

This my first time posting to the forum, so excuse me if it isn't in the right spot. If it's not, can someone direct me to what part of the forum this goes to?

I've been trying everything I can to get my game up and running again! Whenever I try to start a new game or load a new one, it lets me go as far as the household selection (You know, where you can see all of the houses in the world and pick which one you want to play in.), but that's it. The spinning plumbob loading screen pops up as normal, but it continues to spin for at least 3-4 minutes. When the plumbob flied off, an error message pops up instead of your house. This it exactly what it says (I also tried to get the format right because I don't know how to screenshot on the computer I'm using.):

The game failed to load. Error code:

123:9d5d0e8f:b1d3c02d. It is recommended that you

relaunch the game.

It doesn't matter how many time I do this or what I do. I've tried everything I can think of! I used the "repair" button on Origin (nothing happened), tried to update it (it just said it was up to date), I removed my mods (nothing), put them back (nothing), disabled them (nothing), re-enabled them (nothing), and even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Literally noting has worked or even changed the message in the slightest. I've been dealing with this for about a week now, and I've been doing ^^ that stuff over its course. Someone PLEASE help! I dont want my game to be rendered useless!

Thanks so much!!!

  • Hi @Owlhootaccount2

moved this to tech for troubleshooting

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

Has it worked? My game is showing the same error code issues, and I cant seem to solve them either.

    Hi @JoJanne2312

just make sure you don't delete anything and make extra backup copies to be safe and you won't.
