Cannot place any walls and cannot exit.

I deleted my mods and still, I cannot place or add any wall.s I can only delete ii and tried to add but nothing is working. I cannot even palce any roofs but only add and it is getting frustrating and idk how to even fix it or know what is wrong with my saved file, Even when trying to exit, it is stuck on a white screen i cant do much but to force my laptop to restart as welll. I even tried adding cheats or no cheats in hopes to add or mmove walls but it would not. I can only add enterior furniture but I cannot add a single wall or roof.  Since the patch update or something I cannot remember but I remember I just had to update it. I deleted all of my mods and still, I cannot even place any walls let alone exit out properly.
