Excessive load times, simulation lag rendering game unplayable

TS4 taking 5+ minutes to load, simulation lag is insane, doesn't make a difference whether I load in with or without mods. This started a week or so ago, so could be a result of the update? I have up...

    Just an update: I solved my issue.

    Turns out, my computer was having hardware problems. The cooling system was the culprit. My CPU was getting too hot and was trying to throttle everything. We bought a new cooling system for my PC and now my game runs smooth as butter again.

@NightlyCoffee  Another thing you can try is playing Sims 4 while your computer is offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable.  Even if you'd never play like this in general, it's a useful diagnostic test.

Let me know what you and your husband find, and we'll go from there.
