"Folder doesn't exist" when updating game
@lilaposta Do you have enough space on your computer to install the game twice, or at least the base game (about 20 GB)? If so, try renaming the Sims 4 folder that contains the game's program files. That's the folder you see when you open the EA App and select Sims 4 > Manage > View properties.
You'll need to close the EA App and kill the EABackgroundService in the Task Manager, if it's still running, before you can rename the folder.
Once you've renamed the folder, the App will think Sims 4 is no longer installed. Create a new folder on the root level of the drive of your choice, for example C:\Games is fine, but not C:\Program Files\Games. Try installing Sims 4 into that folder. Disable your antivirus before creating the folder, and leave it disabled while trying to install the game.
If you don't have enough free storage for two copies of Sims 4, please clear more space, at least 25 GB in total. This could be a source of error, although the App usually tells you when it thinks you don't have enough space to update.
