Having any legacy saves are pointless. EA erases them.

I had two saved games and it seems like they only saved up to a certain point. I haven't logged in for a while except for the login rewards and the free items. Every time I logged in my one save family was always there in the background, so no issues there. I log in today to actually play and I'm back to my two original sims as young adults(they were edlers) and as if their kids never existed. I don't have any mods installed, or custom content outside of the free things they've given away in the marketplace. It's very frustrating when you want to get back into the sims after not being on for a while and issues like this occurs.

  • rawrxd92  Has the date on the save file changed?  As in, it doesn't reflect the last time you saved your progress, when the sims were elders?  I ask because that would suggest an issue with a syncing service, typically OneDrive, where newer files are removed and only older ones remain.

You can check the dates of saves in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves.  Any file that ends in .verx is a backup of a given save, so you can ignore it for this purpose.  You can also check whether your saves are stored in a OneDrive-synced folder by right-clicking one of them and selecting Properties > General, then looking at the Location.

If OneDrive is in fact the issue, please see this guide to changing its settings or getting rid of it:

If the date on the save is correct, as far as you can tell, please load it and see whether any of your recent progress is still present.  As in, did the entire save revert to a previous state, or is some of it updated while other elements have regressed?
