FPS Drop - Settings normalizes FPS

Hello! I recently upgraded to Windows 11. I have also upgraded my CPU and ram. Sims ran amazing before these upgrades, but it's been acting strangely lately.

I'm running at a constant 60 fps (vsync) and then it will drop to 13-20. It will REALLY be struggling but it's not that my computer can't handle it.

I then figured out that if I go to the Game Options and just sit in the menu for a second, it will fix my FPS and it will go back up to 60 FPS.

Then, eventually, it will drop down to 13-20 fps. It will NOT come back up from that point. But if I go to Game Options and just sit there for a second, my FPS will go back up to 60 and be fixed for a while, until ofc. dropping again.

Yes, I have mods but they have not been a problem before and they aren't causing this inconsistency of frame rate that's oddly going up and down.

Yes, I have updated my graphics driver (and drivers in general)

Yes, Windows is updated.

Anyone know how to fix this? It's so odd cus iagain. It's not like my pc cant handle it, it's like the game just decides to run poorly and then i go to Game Options to remind it to act normal and its fixed temporariy?

  • @JeanVW In the apartment with gremlins, there used to be strong fps drawdowns, I also used the settings to stabilize the fps, it helped for 5 or 30 seconds, then the fps fell again, and when I moved to the city of celebrities, all the slowdowns disappeared. And you say it does not depend on the place, it depends, I tell you.
  • It's in Henford so, unfortunately, no. I'll still bouncing between some fixes, but in terms of reinstalling my graphics driver, it will have to wait a little cus I need help hahaa

@Aledreon Try to play in a random place ,switch between live and build mode. Trust me, you'll experience FPS drops. This is because of an issue in the game engine, not in a place specifically. But who knows.
  • No, like I know this isn't normal. This has been a problem for days and it specifically only gets better if i go to ESC. Switching between modes, going to different places in-game, etc. Nothing changed. ONLY when i hit ESC to bring the menu up. On top of that, it's never been an issue before either. Only after Win 11

@escalusia The advice of the players will not fix this, a patch is needed here. I doubt that such a patch will be released in the foreseeable future, if at all.
