The sims with the reward in other careers get the requirement completion immediately. Further tests can be made once I'm off work.
There is no "your sim got a promotion!" alert on the pinboard, just a note in the text that their rates went up at the end of the notice about how much the client liked the work.
The same situation is with aspiration - "Writer". Written books do not count in aspiration - "Write 5 good books"
It looks like when these careers were created has been forgotten to combine them with existing aspirations.
