Gallery Overhaul July 2018

Since we had a major gallery overhaul yesterday and some stuff is still not working, please use this thread to post. I will try compile stuff that's happening (starting tomorrow, bit busy today). ...

    I'm going to lock this post now as it has run it's course.

    All possible problems identified have been summarized on the first post and the gallery has been stable the past few days.

    If you have further issues with the gallery, please make sure to remove your mods and try without. Many are broken, not only the UI Mod.

    If you still have issues, create a new thread.

Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.45.62.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them but my first pets stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open the game and go to new save. Open the gallery and put one of your sims households in CAS, replacing the default sim.
What happens when the bug occurs? the game loads the sims but a grey tinge appears over the CAS screen and you cannot move.
What do you expect to see? CAS working when you use the controls or when you click and drag to create the sim
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. I took out my cc and mods and the game couldn't even load CAS, it showed a blank white screen that apparently you could "click" around when the mouse moved over what would be the sim in place.

       Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

      You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

      After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

      Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

      • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
      • Tray Folder
      • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
      • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
      • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
      • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

      The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

    Further investigation shown one of the mods i use needed an update after yesterday patch.

    Hi,

    Since the latest patch (UPDATE: 07/31/2018 - PC 1.45.62.1020) CAS and gallery import feature is broken.

    The game is frozen with the grey unmovable tinge reported by KatieRozsa.

    Removing and regenerating "The Sims 4" data folder and repairing the game with origin do not fix this.

      @Drexler_LZ   @katierozsa  moving this to the gallery collection thread for now until I have more time for testing myse

      The UI Extension mod is known to cause freezing so make sure that is really not active (remove + delete cache files)

        I wanted to upload a house but it freezes, so I had to end the game via Task Manger. When I came back into the game, I was suddenly not online anymore, it may now be coincidence, I'll try again. And my catalog page is all down to zero. I do not use a UI-Extension-Mod.
