Sim No Longer on Soccer Team When Reopening Game

My sim joined the soccer team via scholarship application. Everything operates fine while playing - she gets the tasks, goes to practice and games, and is even in a club where being on the team is a requirement. However, every time I save and close the game the next time I go to play the soccer team is gone from her school / careers tab and the club is gone. 

Even weirder, one time I saw one of her teammates and was able to ask how the club was going from the social menu and they replied that I was doing a great job running it even though I was no longer in it.
