game completly reset?

Do you still have any files in this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves ?

That folder does have other folders and files in it... not sure what they mean but it has stuff in it. The folders say scratch and one says serialGUID

then the other things are all::   slot_0000001.save.ver1

and they keep going up.? any ideas are they suppose to be there? 🙂 Thank you

Try this then

1. Close the game
2. Move the whole saves folder to the desktop
3. Start the game to see create a new folder and start a new game 
4. Close the game again
5. Copy slot0002 in the saves folder on your desktop back to the newly created one.
6. Start the game to see if you can load that.
7. If so, you can add the rest back but keep slot00001 and the folders out.
8. See if you get your games back this way.

im having this same issue but i dont have anything in my saves. i tried your method anyways no luck, and ideas cuz ive been playing for years and this never happened and im really upset

Did you search your hard drive (and maybe oneDrive) to see if there's a another Sims folder somewhere ?

I did, not every single folder just the ones that seem obvious. By the way I don't have onedrive set up on this PC

There is something in my sims tray folder that says 0x000001 and then a bunch of other numbers. Could that be something?

Does it have the extension .save and say slot_0000000X.save ?

The files in the tray folder have odd numbering so it's probably not it.

I would try searching for slot*

also i dont know if this is relevant but my origin kept saying it was offline no matter what i did before it happened
